Q. Why would a person need these enzymes, i.e. shouldn't the body naturally produced the needed enzymes?
A. As a person ages, less of their own enzymes are excreted. Those with compromised immune systems, leaky gut syndrome, etc. benefit from the extra enzymes. Also taken on an empty stomach, these enzymes get into the circulatory system and break down undigested food particles and potential allergans that may cause inflammation.
Q. How big are the capsules? I have Sjogrens and I have trouble swallowing pills because of dry mouth. Is it a capsule that could be opened and mixed with something?
A. It is 7/8" long and 5/16" in diameter. Yes, it's a capsule so you can open the contents and mix it with water or any beverage desired.
Q. Is this a vegan product?
A. It contains all-natural ingredients but we can't claim it to be vegan.
Q. Does this need to be kept cold?
A. No, it does not need to be kept cold or refrigerated.
Q. Does this help IBS?
A. This product is not intended for IBS, but we do have customers who say it helped with their IBS symptoms.
Q. Do you need to cycle these for fear that your gut might stop producing enzymes and stomach acid?
A. The gut does not produce enzymes, it produces stomach acid, for that you need HCL if you're getting heartburn (GERD). You can take the enzymes to aid in the digestion later on (past the stomach). A liver supplement may help as well. If you have sleep issues, your liver may need a jump start.
Q. When is the best time to take these? Before, during or after eating? Half hour before?
A. Taking it before meal works best for most people and it is the suggested use. You can also heed advice from a healthcare professional.
Q. Is this the same as a probiotic?
A. Digestive enzymes is not the same as probiotics. Digestive enzymes are used to break down food in smaller pieces to be absorbed easily in the blood stream.
It optimizies digestion of fat, carbs, proteins, dairy and other difficult foods to digest. Its also helps the body building blocks needed for growth and maintenance. It breaks down indigestible fibre or fat that causes gas and bloating. Regulates bowel movements by improving metabolism.
Probiotics are organisms such as bacteria or yeast to help with immune system. It helps with some digestive disorder. It helps to balance the bacteria in the intestine.
Q. Do your products contain Gluten?
A. Many of our products use vegetable capsules and so do not contain gluten.
